New York – Randomly!

March 3, 2015

On our trip back to Italy from the U.S., Lizzie and I had a short trip slash long layover in NYC! We decided to have a wicked go of the enormous city despite the vicious elements and subway traffic jams. From 7:00am to 7:00pm, we trekked through the city’s sludgy streets to Central Park, Times Square, the terrific High Line, and finally the famous public library. What a rush!

New York gave us the sense of a really great city, but with that infamous feel of the east US city rush. Still, Lizzie and I managed to have some incredible adventures and a few memorable conversations while exploring the Big Apple for 12 hours. We got lost only twice (with just a Big Bus map that covered 1/3 of the Manhattan peninsula). Not bad right??

We even could see Staten Island! But, due to the frigid air and our already stiff legs, we decided not to take the free ferry boat ride around the lonely island. But we did take a picture of it from a distance, which evoked the same emotion anyway.

Dude, I ❤ NY.

We also happened to meet the most incredible person in this grand city, Eugene! From New Zealand he was, and we met because of a hacky sack. He had one of his sitting in front of him on a table in a coffee shop. (Lizzie and I were escaping the elements.) and lo and behold he and I had the same hacky sack! So we took this photo =)

Next stop, Italy!! See you then, all!
